There is a reason why the first picture looks good but just wrong in some way. It's not the bridge IMO. It is the pickup.
Our eyes are not expecting to see an oblong shaped humbucker in a tall ring and it can never look "right".
What it needs is a single P90 with wings (dog ear cover). Of course the plastic casing will need to follow the top curve. Doing this aftermarket is not going to hide the humbucker route (?) so we will probably have to wait for Gibson. I am not sure about the exact colour of the P90 or the exact position of the P90. Put it in the wrong place and you might as well put a giant turd on the guitar.
I think flame top is right and it would be harder to fool the eye into believing that a Classic design has been invented or "found" if the guitar is gold.
There might be a case for a small "junior style" pickguard following the top carve. Somebody clever will crack this design and we will all desire one more than we can imagine.
Edit: Another thought. The plastic shim/surround (Lollar) that you sometimes see on a dog-ear p90 would probably cover the humbucker route. And the slightly larger profile might be a design trick that works. Still be better to have the option to choose the pickup location from scratch.
Digging the single-bucker LP, by the way. Like a posh junior.
I love the look of them, I would love it more without any knobs, or maybe just a volume knob.
And then I would hang it off the longest available strap & riff out
Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
