NID - New Interface Day

New Interface Day

I needed a couple of mic inputs for a project, I use the Helix Stomp normally or my Rode USB mic, but needed 2 mic inputs and mics that can handle higher SPL’s.

Was looking at the SSL’s and also more expensive things like the babyface but then I thought I’d try something cheap and cheerful first,  so picked up one these.

Impressed so far, sounds good, the DI was great for bass, mic preamps and headphone amp all sound good and it’s really easy to operate.

I’ve had various interfaces before at the lower end and they have been pretty pants, so didn’t expect much, but first impressions are this is pretty good....

    Seems very good so far but only tried at 44.1.  I’ll check it tomorrow.

    @octatonic ;

    With 23 tracks at 44.1k, with a buffer size of 128, latencies are 5.3ms input and 4.4ms output.
    I can reduce the buffer size and get about 2.5 for each without clicking and popping, but that's probably as much to do with a half decent processor (7th gen I7 quad core).

    Putting the buffer size up to 512 samples goes to 16ms and 12ms for input and output respectively.
