Headphones and Tinnitus

Hi all,

I am currently using some well-loved AKG K240s for recording or silent practise and I've noticed that extended periods with these headphones can cause my tinnitus to flare up. I has some Marshall Major on-ears I use for listening to music in the office and I dont appear to have the same issue despite longer periods of listening. I know volume is an important factor but is it related to the pressure that the over ear design causes? Any experience of this of suggestions? My tinnitus has thankfully eased but I am nervous of using cans again until I have minimised the chance of causes another bout.

Go see a doctor- this is too serious to only elicit responses on a forum.

I also have a bit of tinnitus, I had a full hearing test and got advice from people who know what they are doing and it is now managed.

I wish I knew what causes my T to flare up, it can occur overnight! ! But I do know the biggest relief I had was when the drummer switched to an electronic kit.
