Fitting humbuckercovers

Hi. I would like to fit covers on my new build Flying V Hum buckers. I have couple of questions if any one could help. Are the covers flat down on top of the pickups and soldered and will it make any difference to the output/tone of the humbuckers  Thanks

You'll need a hefty soldering iron.

@oilcitypickups showed how to clamp the cover in place in one of his posts if you can find it

Indeed. That would be very handy.

IIRC, cover soldering was not mentioned in the Discussion title. Probably a rebuild thread, the announcement of a new pickup design or the one about the proposed pickup winding course.
