WTB: Superstrat, Suhr/Tom Aderson/Musicman/Friedman etc.

I'm still on the lookout for a nice superstrat. One that I can hold onto for more than 6 months! It's been a revolving door.

I thought the new Ibanez AZ line would be perfect but after buying a brand new prestige, I had to return it to the shop a day later. Sharp fret ends and uneven frets. It was in desperate need of a fret level to make it playable, other than that it was cool. I was probably just unlucky.

It's pretty safe to say I've seen what's currently on offer here and I have put a couple on my list. 

So I would love to see what's lurking about behind the scenes.

Would love a Friedman Cali but a bit too expensive new and I rarely see them second hand.

Needs to have at least one humbucker (obviously) but not fussed if it's trem/hardtail/floyd, i'm easy either way.
I'm over in Wales so it would likely need posting.

Have a look on Sound Affects Ormskirk website - they have some superb Patrick James Eggle 96 guitars in their second hand section - I'm as fickle as they come, but my 96 is a keeper...

This is just one example, but they have a few, plus some other tasty things from Suhr and other big names:

Thats my old one. Cracking guitar, but as usual I thought there was something else shiny I needed more.

I miss my Eggles.

Iv'e been looking into the Eggles, intrigued.

@andy1839 can you describe the neck on your old one? It's a vintage so has the soft V neck? Any info would be great.

I have the same soft v neck on my PJE Oz Droptop Tele. I was a bit nervous about it as I've always favoured shallower neck profiles, but the second I played it I was won over.

It's quite a subtle v, not too deep at the deepest point and the lack of meat around the shoulders along with an amazing natural oiled finish makes it feel very slender and fast.

Edit: I've had a few guitars from Sound Affects (incl.the  the aforementioned Oz) and they're very good to deal with.

@flumpet ; have you seen the Friedman Cali on eBay ? 
Think it's £1700 or best offer it's in Newcastle it has a Floyd though don't know of that's your thing .

Regarding the Suhr Pete Thorn, yes I am aware of it and if it had been pretty much any other colour I would have already contacted you. Not for me I'm afraid, but I'm sure it's a great guitar.

Re the Suhr Classic above, another great guitar but I've had one in the past so looking for something different. Thanks anyway.

Re the Friedman on ebay, again, wrong colour. Iv'e obviously got something against metallic colours.

I was eyeing up the ibanez AZ line, eventually went the charvel dk24 route. Can't recommend it highly enough, I ended up picking up a style 2 so cal as well just because I liked the neck so much

Yep I agree on the charvel dk24. I had one recently, had fun with it. l ended up moving it on a few months later. 

It’s strange, I’ve got a nice permanent stable of guitars. The usual suspects, les Paul, les Paul custom, nice relic strat, an SG, an old charvel model 4 for the metal and a mental signed YJM strat. I can’t seem to stick with a superstrat, but I want to!

I've got one of these - proper floyd and EMG's, thru-neck, ebony fretboard... Not everyone's cuppa but let me know if your interested, no worries if not. Its an ASM Pro - that's the best photo I could find, they are quite rare but if you were interested I'll take some photo's of mine (looks the same).
