Abalone looks best to me in your mock up.  Picks ups the colours in the headstock, nut, dots and tuners. Black Pearl close second for me.

  • On Juniors, my traditionalist brain expects to see single ply black. On Specials, boring BWB.

The mirror graphic suggests that eggshell white would work in a Marauder/S-1 sort of way.

Blue pearlescent would be bold but effective. White pearlescent would probably be too camp.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Probably getting an Alegree Murky Horizon but not fully decided. Might get a matching pair and replace bridge too

    Boring black gets my vote.

I have a brown one of these. I thought I might built a few loaded pickguards (just for a bit of fun)

the first one will have two burns trisonics in it

  • @phil_b that looks great with the black, but wouldn't suit the blue. Would have preferred a black one but can't complain seeing as it was free :)

  • If I had to pick one of those , it would definitely be abalone which matches nicely with blue body .

This, although not as close for me - abalone by a mile.

I saw a Tele pickguard in that recently on a natural-finish body, and liked the guard but not the contrast. I wondered what the right body colour for it would be, and the answer is... that blue.

  • Leaning towards the abalone myself. It is a very good match in the mock up

  • Abalone ordered. Going to go for a matched pair of Alegree P90s. It’s a toss up between Desert Dew or Sea Smoke.
