Garage band playback issue ?

Im generally using Studio One with my Mac and 16.4.2 mixer interface, everything work fine.

I was looking for loops recently and someone mentioned Garageband so thought I would try it.

Now...for the life of me I cannot get any sound output from GB...I see the loops playing , GB meters all moving....if I select built in out put on the Mac it plays through the tiny speaker in Mac mini, ...but why won't it playback though the Persons interface ?

I have the GB inout & output set to my interface ...no joy

Yeah I did that....no diff.

Right... just tried on two macs and my laptop...

exactly the same thing as you... no playback through the interface!!!!! But I get sound through the built in speakers or headphone out...

only thing I can suggest is monitor the loops with your headphones plugged direct into the Mac, bounce the ones you want and then stick them I studio one!...

Are you using macOS Catalina, because that could be the reason? I had to bin an M-Audio keyboard that had worked for years until Catalina.

Cracked it on mine!

set the main system prefs to set your interface for in/out.

set the GB prefs for both in and out to “system setting”...

Don’t have these problems with logic!

I thought I’d tried that but will give it another go and then reboot,,,,
