Thunderbolt Cables

I would like to buy a spare Thunderbolt cable - and since they're all made in china anyway, I though I'd pick me up something like this for £5:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thunderbolt-To-Thunderbolt-Cable-Mini-Dp-To-Mini-Dp-Male-To-Male-Line-For-PC-/383738733060?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

However, it also says in the description that the cable 'will not transfer data like hard drives':

This cable is compatible with any PC/notebook/Macbook that has either a mini displayport or thunderbolt port.

*Providing both digital video & audio in one cable only. This cable will not transfer data like hard drives.

*8b/10b data transmission (up to 2.7 GHz symbol rate, up to 4 lanes).

*Supports color depth of 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 bits per color component.

*Support 128-bit DPCP and support for 40-bit HDCP from version 1.1 onwards 32 AWG.

So does that mean I can't use it with a Thunderbolt audio interface?

Deeply grateful for expert advice...
