I'd be interested in your drum editing approach.

    Would like a Songwriting one.
Something you start from scratch with, not pre-written.

  • Drum processing walktrhough. Maybe a 2 parter, one with live drums and one starting from programmed drums and then contrast the differences.

Obviously it’s your channel, so do what kind of stuff you like. But I’ll just say what I enjoy watching in the hopes it helps you decide.

    1. New studio tour
    2. Maybe a song breakdown video (Rick Beato styleé)
    3. Album chat - A bit like the vinyl community do. Your Top 5 rock albums/Top 5 live albums etc.
    4. Session musician/your favourite musician & a breakdown of their style/gear/riffs. I always enjoyed these ones the most:

Compression setting, how to approach it, with good sound.  Preferably in Logic or on outboard gear.  Always been a bit of a mystery to me, though I usually like the results.
I was a bit amused by the ‘songwriting’ suggestion - everyone has their own approach(es) to this I know, and to some it is a conundrum, but it’s not very visual.

  • I third the suggestion for something around Logic. I really need to spend some time with it to figure out a good workflow for both recording and mixing.

A video of my songwriting approach would be 6 weeks long, a video of our last singer would be "pick up guitar, strum a few chords and magic a melody and lyrics out of nowhere"

Perhaps it was a bad idea @JohnS37 I just thought we forever see Pete Thorn & the likes demoing gear & playing, but never really showing the How that song was created.

Maybe Mary Spender does more of this type of thing although I’m not sure as I rarely watch her channel.
