Mac issue

Anyone help with this one?

When I shut my Mac down, as normal, mac goes off as it should then comes back on almost immediately with

“your Mac restarted because of a problem”

only been happening today.

Been through all the normal crap of resetting the pram etc etc

anyone had this before?

Tried a new system (a removable drive would be fine)?

Laptop, desktop, OS version, configuration? all such information would help.
Any relatively recent changes to anything such as system updates, new software installs, new peripherals added?

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode & if so does the restart still happen at shutdown?
(Always start with the basics & work up if needed).

Well apple were as much use as a chocolate tit....

"unplug everything and see if the problem persists"

Yeah thanks...tried that and everything else... but... got to the bottom of it...
My raid system automatically updated a driver in anticipation for the new mac os....

Reverted back to the old driver and everything is fine....

    cnuts.... all of them!.

Always turn automatic updates of anything off.
I know Apple make it difficult these days but it is the only way to be sure.

The last OS update was Oct. 1st, 10.14.6 Supplemental Update, was that applied?
Or are you possibly using a third party application with your RAID?
Sorry for all the questions but I do like to know about why such things occur  ;)

It was the software for the raid... it updated a driver which wasn’t compatible... apparently it was the driver for Catalina...

it’s all sorted now tho’ was just a pita...
