I love these Inside The Song videos from Warren Huart's Produce Like A Pro channel. Here's a breakdown of Blur's Song 2 with original recording stems, interesting how it was recorded as a throw away with just a scratch vocal that made the final track.

    Graham is a total legend.

My favourite story I saw him telling was about the solo on "Coffee and TV" where he just improvised what he thought was some noises as a placeholder on the track and when he said he needed to record a proper solo everyone said he got it right first time.

Song 2 is a masterpiece, Blur really were superb on their day

  • The irony is now Miley Cyrus feels heavy metal...

  • Hang on. That's not irony at all. Just another pop band showing rockers how it's done. Swines!

Brilliant song. Another of those where you hear such a simple, memorable riff and wonder how no-one came up with it before.

  • I used to love Song 2 but for some reason over the last few years I've really grown to detest Blur.

  • I like Blur, Damon is a excellent songwriter and Graham Coxon is a terrific player but I was shocked when I first heard him speak years ago, I wasn't expecting that voice from him!

Coxon always reminds me of Ralph from "Dear John"
