Affordable Studio Monitors on Black Friday?

Hi all,

I am slowly pulling together a studio room for some recording. Of course, this means I need a set of monitors. I have headphones already.
It is a hobby for me and I'm not really wanting to spend over £500. I would ideally also like to use them casually to listen to music on occasion whilst I'm working in the studio/office on my actual day job.

Any recommendations that would fit the bill? Bonus points if they are found from a retailer with a discount on for black Friday.

I've just picked up a pair of Presonus Eris E5s for £180 from Bax. They are really good, and give you a very clear, flat response. The E8s are the bigger brother, or you could go down the same route and add one of the Subs and still be within budget.

Another vote for the Presonus E5's for budget speakers; I have had a pair for about 4 years and think they are great! Also used them at a few parties with the acoustic space at 0db (have them set at -4db in my room) and they have a surprising amount of bass for little speakers.

I’m currently looking at the Tannoy Gold 5’s, they seem to get really good reviews. 

Was also looking at the Eris 4.5bt, but if I go up to 5” will get the Tannoys as I like the front mounted controls.

I was looking at the Eris 4.5 too but a number of reports of hum has rather put me off.

The E8’s are pretty good. I’m borrowing some off a mate but they sound great esp with my Kemper running out.

I do want some Yamaha HS8’s though.

I enjoy my Kali LP6s! Good bit cheaper than 500 but they punch above their price.

These are excellent around £105 a pair from Thomann and other sites.
I bought my son a pair liked them and bought myself a pair.

I bought some JBL LSR305 Mk II monitors at the start of lockdown as I was turfed out of my room and that became an office. For £200, I am very happy. Yes there is some hiss but no more than most guitar amps. They're lovely on Helix guitar noodling, gaming,music, and fucking about with recording.

I've got a pair of JBL LSR305 too, and I'd want to spend quite a bit more money to replace them - they're very good, IMO.

Got the Eris 4.5 in the end.  First impressions very good, definitely a step up from the ilouds, as you would expect from the bigger cabs and drivers.
