I think it’s intended to be a commentary on both the aspirational nature of a lot of Reverb prices and the whole cult of Klon thing. He has a bunch of other random stuff for sale for ridiculous prices  as well.

Some youtuber purchased a Klon recently for $5k, which was well above the going rate even on Reverb, and has been using it to increase his views. Purchasing one for $2.5k wouldn’t be as much of a publicity lightning rod as paying way over the odds, though I’m sure he will potentially make it back in views in the long run.

I got the feeling this, along with the other things on sale, was a joke. Especially given that he recenlty did a whole vid about the hype of the Klon whether one is worth $5000.

I'm not sure it is a joke. JHS seem to be killing it WITHOUT having anything that exceptional pedal wise. No doubt the pedals featured on YouTube are part of a deal/sponsor.

He's making a killing from the whole market.
