NGD: New Gibson Day!

What's Hot
The 2013 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro II...and blimey it's lovely.

This is the Iced Tea with 60s neck, dead comfy and similar in feel to the neck on my '99 Smartwood and Jnr. I was looking at the regular Trad but the 50s neck is a bit of a handful.

Only played it through my Yamaha THR10 so far, and it sounds fantastic. The coil split sounds are definitely usable and the inbuilt boost is pretty cool (but I reckon I'll stick to pedal boosts).

Full band practice tonight so I'll be cranking it up!

  • Congrats - what colour is the back and neck? My cherry burst is obviously cherry on the back but I prefer the brown mahogany which I presume your Ice Tea has.

    I'm currently debating whether to have a NGD and get the similar spec 335 in the other thread...

    I'm GASing for one of these so badly already D: Really REALLY want one in the Vintage sunburst, sadly not in the UK though... Good guitar mate, how she sounds as good as she looks!

    Well that was a lot of fun!

    So happy with it. Sounds fantastic, and the coil split is great, one of my favourite sounds is both pick-ups split and the selector on the mid position. Great clean sound with that.

    You do get a slight volume drop when split, but I expected that, and the inbuilt boost can be used to compensate, but for the set we went through tonight it all fitted great. If anything I've got too many options (various drives and boosts on my pedal board).

    The neck feels great, the satin back to it is really nice to play (the back and neck are reddish so must be cherry @Iamnobody). ;

    I'm dead happy, it looks fantastic and does everything and more that I wanted out of a 'proper' Les Paul (if indeed you can have a proper Les Paul that takes a 9v battery!).

    However I do need to get a padded/wider strap. I've not weighed it but it's heavy than anything else I've got.
