There is an essential 'rightness' about so many of Gibson's classic designs - L5s, Les Pauls, 335s - all things of beauty.

Yet the modern Gibson company seems to have a gift for drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa. Bunging a random f hole on a Les Paul, without thought to its size IS just lazy design.

Is suspect some focus group said 'yes' to the idea of a semi-hollow LP, so they rushed one out immediately.

Given they already make 336s, 339s and Midtowns, I'm struggling to see the need for this.
People always moan that they never bring anything new out so I guess they have to look like they are doing something?

TBH with the best catalogue of models they don't really need to bother.

Been done before; 59 neck profile + semi hollow Singlecut body = Howard Roberts Fusion

To be fair, it looks quite nice.

...I'd hate to have a semi hollow - worst of both worlds...
