Are unison shapes, where you play the same note on two different strings at once, chords? I don't know, but for the purposes of qualifying for this discussion, they are!
If you were Allan Holdsworth magically expanded to 10x size, you play the top E note on all 6 strings!
Enote: 24 19 12 9 5 0 (could also play a 5th fret natural harmonic on the 6th string)
And similarly for the other 4 open strings where unison notes are possible:
Bnote: 19 12 9 4 0 x
Gnote: 15 10 5 0 x x
Dnote: 10 5 0 x x x
Anote: 5 0 x x x x
More useful than you might think, especially when you want to avoid taking up too much harmonic space. Or think of 'Weather With You' by Crowded House
