Fine Gear Dust Collector. What do you think?

I have been following this multi FX unit for a while and an very close to preordering one and thought I would share. It is FX but very much piece of studio gear I would say in its workflow, beefy size and weight.

Hainbach and Bo Beats have reviewed it and there are a fair few sound samples up now. What appeals to me is the routing options and the hands on physical nature of it. I can use it a bit like a patch bay an out to the mixer and patch other external effects in.
My synth set up has swollen to a:

Mother 32, subharm,dfam in a 3 tier.
Moog Grandmother
Elektron Samples
Soma lyra 8
Arturia Microfreak

I enjoy making them all set each other off and I definitely into messy chaos.

Very niche and won't appeal to a lot of people but might be some interest here. Some similarities with the Dreadbox Hypnosis which is £399 and the the dustcollecter is 479 euros so good value I would say for a sturdy bit of hardware.

Any thoughts?

Looks neat but an Eventide H9 would do a hell of a lot more, but you lose the knobby action.

  • I was pretty interested in this, but the BoBeats video was very underwhelming. That said, all of his are - quite how he's achieved such notoriety is anyones guess; terrible demos both in terms of content and musical taste. Im trying to reserve judgement. Would prefer a Neon Egg by a distance at this stage.

Seems like a lot or money for not a lot to me, I agree with the above, the reviews really don't help,  it seems to be for people who like to make odd sounds not music.

Yes!! I think these comments are reflecting the feelings I keep coming back to. I was super close now but moving way. I have so many pedals

Yes Gav I definitely agree with this. Hainbach on the other hand is a bit of a mad scientist which I  enjoy. Thought it was funny he said the dust collector was too big with all that crazy huge test equipment. However for what it offers I can see what he means.

Think I need to look at running things through the Grandmother as could be just as interesting if not more so and something I have been exploring on Youtube, now to have a proper go.

Also delivery date of the next batch is now saying mid April so might just keep an eye on it. I can imagine this is the kind of product if popular which it probably will  get some good revisions. Also there is a  lot of talk about it being modded with a separate manual coming out for that. Rather save for a Pulsar 23

Think you are all correct and what I was thinking. in the more sensible part of my head. Going to not bother for the moment thanks for the comments.
