WTB - Gibson R7/R8/R0. Trade added - Fender American Vintage 65 Strat

Looking for a Gibson R7, R8 or R9. I'm not fussy about age/spec/weight, just as long as the neck isn't too chunky. Any colour R8 or R9 considered, plain or light figured top. Cheers

Not selling, but I have an R7 and it it’s a BIG neck. Personally I love it, but it’s just a warning that it might not be for you. 

R8’s are mostly specced with necks on the chunkier side, however the 2017 R8’s were specced with R9 necks.

 I've never actually tried an R7 so wasn't sure exactly how big they were. It might be best to avoid them then.

 I did have one of the 2017 R8s and the neck was fine. Could definitely go a bit bigger so an older R8 should be ok

I and a 2014 R8 last year, great guitar and had a pretty slim 59 neck too.

I may be wrong but I thought the R8s only had the slimmer neck from 2017 onwards.

The 2008 CR8 I have is somewhere between a 59 and 58 profile. Definitely not a baseball bat necks that can be found is some 2000s R8s.

My 2014 was part of a special run by Dave’s guitars in the US, that dealer at the time spec’d those R8’s to have R9 necks I believe along with a few other things like flamey tops. Generally R8’s will have a thicker neck but some companies in the past have done special runs where they pick their own specs and often used R9 necks.

Quite close to me so I’ve bought, sold and traded a few times! The owner is called Chris and a really nice guy to deal with!
