Sold: Mac Mini 2012 Quad core 2.3 i7 16GB ram will need a hard drive

Up for sale is a great quad core Mac Mini - even though old still makes a great little recording Mac or cheap computer for general internet or as media server etc.  2.3 i7 quad, 16GB late 2012.

Now for the bad part, the internal hard drive has failed but I have fully tested the Mac with an external HD and it works fine.  I was going to replace the internal HD then sell but I thought I'd see if there was any interest in a bargain before I do that.  The new owner could either replace the internal drive or just use it with an external.

Update: So the Mac is running with the internal HDD but a scan with SMART Utility (thanks @marauder ) confirms what I suspected and that the hard drive is failing.  Therefore I'm offering this for sale as is for £180 plus postage.  That is boxed, including the power lead.  The new user can put whatever HDD in they want or just run it with an external drive.

Alternatively, if it fails to sell I will put a quality 500GB SSD in and sell for £260 plus postage.

These Macs still fetch £300+ on Ebay.

Very easy. I have same model. I mainly use Reaper and handles very well. Mine is i5 and still happy with it.

Run SMART Utility on the drive, it'll give you a clue if its failing.
