I really like it.  Get your veg peeler out and chuck some really thin cucumber strips in there rather than any lemon - hard to beat.

Tanqueray is my favourite of the 'normal' gins and usually reasonably priced for the quality

    Bombay is the girly one

    I quite like Bombay.

I had a pleasant surprise recently - Tesco's own brand gin is bloody nice :)

    Yep tis a nice one..

like Bertie I don't care for Hendricks too much, Juniper Green Organic is very nice considering its reasonable price tag

Oh, I should say I do like Bombay too... but its definitely at the more floral end of the spectrum.

Calling it girly wasn't meant to be negative. Girls are often a bit girly, and I like them too.

No worries - I don't take "girly" as an insult for the same reason :)

  • Last week we dressed down, walked up the shittier end of Cliftonville high street, and went into Aldi. Bought a bottle of their own gin. It's actually not bad, and certainly a lot cheaper than the branded stuff. It was a brave walk, but we made it back in one piece without being mugged. Might chance my arm again when it's gone, which, at the rate Mrs C shifts the stuff, will probably not be long.

Not yet - Durham is the nearest Waitrose, so we don't go much. One day.

Im working my way through Waitrose's selection, when we get to go to one, like you the nearest means a "special trip"

    so far tried

    Sipsmiths
    London No. 3
    Tanq Rangpur
    Tanq 10
    Beefeater special (red bottomed bottle)
    Bulldog
    6 Oclock Gin
    William Chase (bloody awful stuff)

    also

    Blackwoods
    Juniper Green
    Chancery London
and my fav of all time -  Larios 12 (from Spain)

Sapphire 32 is next on the 'special' purchase list I think
