Brad - I changed the pick-ups to those built by a long-standing local friend Alan Dingwall (Sunderland). Alan has been repairing and re-winding vintage and specialist stuff for years nationally and certainly in the 25+ years I've known him.. He now finally has his own range of "Spirit of 50's, 60's" etc single coils, PAF's, P90's, Bass stuff.

I had a "Spirit of 62" set installed in the SVL, truly outstanding pick-ups - I've swapped out most major US makes for Alan's over the years. He's a "word of mouth" builder but look him up on FBook "Alan Dingwall Guitars" or Instagram "Alan_Dingwall".

That makes sense. Someone I know recommended I get some of Alans pickups - they're meant to be superb.

He is a fine gentleman and meticulous on his research, build and rewind methods. The “Spirit 62’s” are exceptional - why not spec your own though as he’s “magnets are us”! I’m biased though and I’m the only Newcastle FC fan allowed in his Sunderland home!!
