Thanks Waz. Got a mint 2002 one for £1,150 which I think is an absolute bargain for what it is!

@Harmonics72 has one, and knows his Matchless amps.

    Fine things indeed.

Was that the head listed on eBay for £1200? I was super tempted at that but for the fact that I recently got a Morgan AC20 Deluxe

I had one for a while, reverb model.
I can’t tell you much about it anymore I’m afraid apart from it was very reliable. I made the effort to put a good EF86 in it.
I think it probably needed the Matchless Cab but I was using it with a 4*12

Firstly.... Hi @Dodge ! How are you, buddy?
And congrats on the incoming Clubman, @spirit7 !
An absolute steal at the price you paid too by the way!!! Good on you!

I absolutely love my Clubman ( little different to your newer model as mine’s from ‘93. Mine is the second revision model from the Sampson era ( with the oddball octal 6sh7 valve in the preamp).
Yours has the ef86 in its place.
    I have experienced both versions.
Yours can get very greasy and grinding with that EF86! Almost Plexi/ like territory in a way! Back off the preamp gain, and you’ll be rewarded with a glassy but exciting clean sound. Shimmery and bright if need be...
This is the way Robert Cray uses his Clubmans!
My early Clubman has some of the dirty attributes but in my opinion excels with cleans... super chimey amd syrupy at the same time.
I love both for the reasons above!
    Enjoy, brother!

Huge congrats! If was the one on E-bay. I saw it, convinced the wife I needed a louder amp for playing at home, did an unthinkable paid act at the docks to raise the funds, went back to pull the trigger on it to find it had gone! :D
