Going for quite a lot considering he only played it on tour for 3 months in 2013!

Handy built in "hooks" for hanging it up after a hard gig.

Not exactly the CT rainbow I was expecting from the pics, but it looks nice.... it is a charity auction so not sure how reflective the current price is of real value

"This bass is a fog cutter of an instrument"

I'm waiting for that term to be used in the classifieds here ;-)

    I quite like that.

In fact I like it a lot.

But I'm done with owning silly money impossible to replace basses. The insurance costs are mental and the paranoia about ownership / theft / damage etc is just as mental.

And as good as that bass no doubt is, any good luthier could do that for under £3000

Have a wisdom for the above, I agree, when I had my gibson tal Farlow the worry every time I bought it out was intense, so it hardly went out.
Claypool is one of my main inspirations and I would love to own one if his basses, but I know I wouldn't take it out of the house, for the fear of damage or theft, I would rather have a hand made bass to emulate on of his, but man just to have a bass he played and owned would be great, I never usually do idolisim but claypool has always been the exception!
