I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I imagine someone will buy it and have it converted into 'A Burst'...

And would it have fetched even more money if he'd left it stock?

That would be tough to stomach.  I fervently hope it ends up in a museum where it belongs so it can be seen by as many people as possible, rather than languishing in some rich collector's vault.

That hyphen in Vib-Rola seems particularly unnecessary.

A Conversion is a heavily modified Gibson Les Paul.
It seems amazing that you didn't notice that Les Paul started modifying this guitar as soon as he received it, or..... that all of his working guitars were heavily modified Gibson Les Pauls.

Unless of course you are posting to attack Les Paul the man.

I'd rather see it bought by someone (like Kirk) who's likely to take it on the road and play it to an audience

Kirk would play it, as it does with the Green/Moore guitar. And while I'm not a huge fan of him, I thought it was brilliant he plays it live rather than leaves it in a cabinet.

Thats the guitar I always said was the coolest Les Paul on planet Earth.

Nothing else comes close, for me.

No, it was a pithy joke in reference to how a few 50's Les Pauls (eg Gold Tops) have been converted into HB routed 58-59 sunburst replicas.

Personally I think the 50's P90 Les Pauls are the ones I like the most.

Or of course Gibson will serve papers and claim it's rightfully theirs, as Les didn't pay for it, or it was only on loan to him as a prototype and they want it back. And most likely charge a fee for having on hire for so long.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.
