Something cheap that records well and stays in tune. I’ll never gig with it, just need it for a session that’s upcoming and it’s be super handy to have one around. Hoping to sort one over the next day or two!

Deering makes some good entry-level banjos. They make some high-end ones as well, but there are plenty from the good time series either open back or resonator out there for relatively cheap.
