Help and advice on how to improve

Really spend time on things you learn whether it's pentatonics.  Chords ect ....for eg a pentatonic scale isnt learned when you can just play up and down it ...that's just the raw materials .. try altering the order ...a good way to start is by deciding to miss some strings out so string skipping ....work on phrasing and timing and come back to it and advance on it 

To many people seem to think they have learned something when really they have just scratched the surface
