The original scratchplate had two texas specials and a full sized humbucker in the bridge.
I was playing loads of very old rural pubs which had dodgy ancient elctrics and I used to get a lot of hum with the single coils. I bought a complete scratchplate with the lace sensors on but did not like the red lace sensor in the bridge so I had the little JB fitted.
