Case Lining

I have a Hiscox case which I've had for (gawd thinking back it must be) 20 years - it came with the Lowden.
Recently the inside red 'velvet' lining has become detached from the internal polystyrene (or whatever) former.

 It's still held in place at the rim, but as I close the lid the velvet flops, which means I'm never sure that the pad which is supposed to sit on the fretboard is in the correct place.

First thought was make a couple of nicks in the lining & use an adhesive spray, like the stuff you use for cardboard photo mounts. Then the slow part of my brain caught up - fumes from that could be detrimental to the guitar finish.

So, the question: any thoughts on the way forward? (It's nothing I can't live with if I have to).

If I understand you correctly, then I'd slit the fabric with a craft knife and use Copydex (which is water based) to stick the fabric back. Don't overdo it, the Copydex will seep through the fabric if you use to much.

If it was mine, I'd return it for a pro repair. Hiscox will lovingly restore it. They did a lovely job replacing a broken latch on one of mine. They arranged collection and return too - and I didn't pay a penny! Or, if you've got a bit of brave in you, a bit of daring, you can do as Mick there says

Like Mellish says - I thought about that after posting. A phone call might be a good start and find out what the costs might be?

for a Lowden,   id get it repaired by a pro, or buy a new case

I'd second the idea to contact the company first. These handmade and higher priced companies tend to value their customers quite highly. You may get a happy outcome.

The consensus seems to be to contact Hiscox, so an email seems the way to go. 
@TheMadMick I never thought about Copydex. Is it still made? Last time I remember seeing it must be early 70's. Also there would definitely be no more 'new wood' smell left!! I seem to remember it smelled like fermented cow dung!

a flash of inspiration - was just going to post that -  I fixed my Brook Hiscox (the accessory flap came apart) with copydex
