Forgetting how to play loud

I did my first “playing out” in about 20 years last night.   It as only a family get together with a few other friends - even to put an impromptu band together.

Besides having fun, I struggled to play loudly.  Normally if I am playing at home, it will be low volumes or on headphones, so I really didn’t realise how shit I had become until the volume when up.   Amp barely got above 4, so the amp wasn’t even getting warmed up . I think I wasn’t expecting the responsiveness etc.

Given it might be another year before I get invited back, so I have some time to correct it.

Need to find somewhere I can go and crank it, in the name of getting my mojo back of course.

Anybody else had similar issues?

Yeah it's deffo different playing loud, learning how to control the noise the other strings feedback etc.   Just how a rehearsal room and blast along to afew backing tracks and you'll be fine.
