Q5: Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Sittin' on the dock of a bay - Otis Redding.
Just to be a good bedroom guitarist and to inspire my 10yr old daughter to stick with learning guitar herself (she's been playing only a short while, massive Slash fan).
Dunno, it's only the last year I've dug my guitars out and got obsessed by guitars, bits and pedals. Got a p90 Harley Benton SC recently which is ace, but also a Boss Blues Driver which is equally ace for a different reason.

Q5: overkill Motörhead, the song that doesn’t want to end
I am a nice pharmacist coping with the madness on a daily basis looking for distraction in the world of Music.
Q1 My username.
Well, for me the pulsonic cone in the old greenback pushed by old plexi makes the sound of the electric guitar just perfect. Period.
Q2 Where I am come from.
Born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. After nearly 45 years decided to move out and settled down in Ireland, Limerick.
Q3 My musical ambition.
Well, since I have heard the great Uncle Larry for the first time, realized where I am and where I would love to be. I would like to retain everything from Tom and the HomeSkoolin. Thanks to Him I play the guitar again.
Q4 My best bit of gear.
I feel myself as a boomer, being glued to my old junks. A '70 Marshall super bass, old 4x12 cab with pulsonic greenes and the '50 player grade Gibson junior. Nothing else really needed.
Maybe a powerbrake sometimes.
And the next old junior.
Q5 My #1 track.
It is a bit tricky. Now is "The Bird Returns" from Trip The Witch album. And Plexi Soul by Tom Bukovac.
Cheers!
Adam
Just signed up, so I thought I'd introduce myself and answer those about me question, so here goes...
Where did you username come from?
My user name is the same as my music youtube channel I started very recently. I do have another youtube channel which is a lot more established, but although it has a fair bit of music by me on it, I wanted a dedicated music-related channel, so I started Musical Mystery Tour just recently. If you click that link you can hear me play one of my songs.
Where in the world/country are you?
I'm from the NW of England, born in Stockport.
What's your main musical ambition?
To keep on playing and doing tutorial videos on the aforementioned channel
Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?
At the last count I have about 25 guitars, plus many keyboards, synths and stuff, so it's difficult to pick one item, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be one of my Les Pauls.
Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Picking one track is hard, but I'll go with Johny Thunders Daddy Rolling Stone.
Q1: Where did you username come from?
Many years ago, I was signing up on another internet forum, and happened to have a whiskey in hand and 1977 playing on the cans.
Q2: Where in the world/country are you?
Ireland, east coast.
Q3: What's your main musical ambition?
To be fluent across the whole fretboard and be able to play / improv by ear across any of the genres I like - rock, country, jazz, whatever.
Q4: Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?
I de-GAS'd a few years ago, and can now keep it to one or two. Currently honeymooning with a Tyler SE HD / Japan.
Q5: Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Really cannot do this. But I do come back to the liveversion of Sultans of Swing quite a lot ever since it blew my ears off on the Friday Rock Show when Alchemy first came out..
I'm a keys player primarily, but, like many here I'm sure, I have way too many guitars!
1) I've used the name jim50hertz for about 30 years on forums, having first used it on what is now GroupDIY (yeah I build stuff too, guitar amps/mics/compressors/studio gear/pedals)
2) Glasgow in Scotland
3) Keep playing and producing music for myself, my improv duo with my wife, and other lovely people.
4) Difficult but my pair of Seventh Circle Audio N72 mic pres. Built about 30 years ago, still rock solid and sound amazing.
5) So hard as it changes very often but a long standing favourite is 'Interplay' by Bill Evans.
Prepare for wondering where your free time and disposable income went!
I'm another long-time lurker on the site and, having just posted in the classifieds, was kindly reminded that I really ought to introduce myself.
Q1: Where did your username come from?
Stoke City legend from the early-mid 90s
Q2: Where in the world/country are you?
Stoke-on-Trent
Q3: What's your main musical ambition?
I've played in bands for the past 25 years, but only really got into playing guitar within the past 6-7 years. Completely self taught I'd say I'm an advanced beginner at best. Really enjoy songwriting and so just focused on writing and recording on my own without the help of my much more talented bandmates.
Q4: Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?
I've well and truly got a GAS problem and have acquired a lot of gear over recent years. I have other more high-end guitars but have a couple of fender modern player marauders that came out about 10 years ago that are surprisingly decent and I'm quite partial to. Also have a number of amps, being most partial to my fender '94 twin amp and the orange tiny terror. Been through a number of overdrive pedals and the one I've settled on is the browne amplification protein.
Q5: Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Hard to pick one. I'd go with 'Is she really going out with him' - Joe Jackson.
Hey, I’m Perry and glad to be part of this community.
Q1: Where did your username come from?
Just my first name, with surname initial
Q2: Where in the world/country are you?
I’m Bristol based
Q3: What's your main musical ambition?
To build amazing guitars and pickups, and excel as a musician. By day I do project management but by night (and weekend) I run a guitar tech and second hand gear business (insta: @elevatedguitars). I do this from my office in my flat in the center of town. I play Christian worship music for my church, as well as the odd blues improv. I would love to use my skills and knowledge to help disadvantaged people get back on their feet and/ or find a love for music and guitars.
Q4: Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?
My Helix LT
Q5: Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Warning Shots, Thievery Corporation. This is my go-to song when I need to be in the zone, or need to relax.
2.london
3.dont have much ambition, just sitting around with my acoustics and strumming a few chords
4.probably my 38' AJ gibson
5.super mario world theme
I bought my first guitar (Encore Strat copy) on Star Wars day 1993. Upgraded to a (non-US) Jackson in 1994 thanks to a student loan. I played constantly for about 2-3 years. I was pretty fast but very messy and I didn't really do anything to learn what I was doing properly. Life got in the way and I drifted away from playing as time went on, but never gave up in my head. Now that I'm self-employed I've more time to play more and I want to do it right this time. I'm working my way through the Justin Guitar lessons and I'm loving it (He's exactly the type of teacher that I can work with). The Jackson still works well (I think) and I'm surprised how much I can remember from muscle memory alone. I've a Boss GT-3 effects processor that's well over 20 years old but no amp other than a Marshall MS2 but I'm finding that most of what I'm currently learning can be done acoustically.
The plan is to stick with the Justin Guitar for a few months and then get the guitar professionally looked at / set up after 30 years of no maintenance at all. If I'm still going strong in a year or so then I might treat myself to second guitar.
I look forward to getting to know tha community...
