What is the slowest perceivable beat?

As a companion to my thread on the speed that a single repeated note becomes a single sustained note, I wondered what the slowest measure possible is that can still be perceived, however many beats to a bar there may be. My music theory may need clarifying for misuse of terms.

I'm pretty sure Nimrod is slower than the threshold.

The yamaha keyboard I was bought as a child had a minimum BPM of 32, I remember that vivdly as I often used to play stuff with the awful backing rhythms etc on half speed but play at full speed, as that made them more interesting. So my old toy Yamaha keyboard was 1 slower than the lowest perceptible beat, which is pretty awesome. I might dig it out of the garage and play about with the Techno and House rhythms on 32 just to see if I can break the universe
