Following on from last month's backing track from @fastonebaz, he's provided another great backing track for this month.

Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk

Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

Just sent one in, if a little reluctantly as it means I'll have to follow @digitalkettle in the playlist! I love the groove on this @fastonebaz , excellent backing, loads of fun to play over, although it really highlights my lack of ability to play at any sort of speed. I compensated by making the middle section a bit weird. The A sections were my first take which I thought went surprisingly well so I kept them, although I kinda wished I'd used slide for this bit now.

Signal chain was tele --> Kingsley page (+/- Kingsley troubadour & memory lane jr set for slapback) --> Lazy J40 --> Captor X --> DAW.

I really enjoyed doing this, I've missed SOTM over the last few months! I need to make more effort in future to keep up with it.

ah that's another great backing, I'll give it a bash. @digitalkettle that little harmony section on yours ending at the 1:02-3 point is lovely!!

Oh good you've entered before me, so I can nick some of your ideas.
...Getting back to reality, I really would make an 'ass' of myself if I attempted that, which would be in keeping with the title of the backing track.

That’s great. I love how you use the trem, you get that faux-slide thing very nicely. Unless you are using a slide

Not slide. I think most of it was bends and finger vibrato on this one. There was some vib. bar as well, here and there.

I found it quite hard to think of something to play over the top of the backing track actually. 

Decided to try to play two guitar parts partly on harmony panned left/right.  It's a bit scrappy compared to how I'd like it to be really.   Can't do ascending tapping anywhere near as well as descending.

Some beast solos there chaps - enjoyed all of them, though I nearly choked on my coffee hearing @Vibetronic 's offering.
