Anyone playing Padstow yesterday (Sunday 28th August)

Was anyone playing in Padstow yesterday afternoon?  We’re on holibobs not far away and visited Padstow briefly late afternoon. 

There was a cracking band playing at the social club, I think. So good that when I heard them from the car park I thought it was a CD playing!  They were playing a very good cover of It Must Be Love by Madness. 

When we came back to the car a little while later the band were playing an excellent rendition of Sultans of Swing - again, I though it was a CD and was trying to figure out which live show it was from! It was only as they finished the outro solo that it clicked to me that it was a live band!  They were really very, very good. 

Then, as we were leaving they went straight into R.E.Ms The One I Love, which was almost flawless. 

Anyway, if any of you guys were playing, it was bloody fabulous, well done!

If we didn’t have the kids with us I would have attempted to gate crash. I’ve looked online and can’t find anything about the band it might have been. 

But, it was the best sounding covers band I’ve heard for a long, long time.
