Open g slide players

What's Hot
Can anyone suggest some examples of players of note I can listen to on YouTube?
I need to steal some more licks and it's not as easy to find as it might appear.
Cheers

  • I'm guessing you've checked out open A slide players?

In case you haven't they're the same intervals.

I Can't be Satisfied by Muddy Waters is probably the most important open G slide choon. Muddy Waters he invented electricity.
Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood is another obvious open G song. So plenty of his songs.
    IIRC Clapton uses open A.
I have I Love You Period by Dan Baird in my head which is open G, not sure how slidey it is without a relisten…

  • Catfish Keith, Kevin Brown, Jim Crawford..all usually playing acoustic and reso guitars.  I've learned to play slide from these guys (face to face, not watching videos!) and their tone and techniques are definitely worth learning from.
