NGD - Custom Brook Weaver

What's Hot
GTCGTC Frets: 264
On Wednesday I returned to deepest Devon to collect my new Brook Weaver custom lefty - and what a beauty it is (visual, sound, and playability)

It was conceived in memory of my wife who died last Boxing Day. The headstock and around the 12th fret have inlays inspired by one of my late wife's favourite paintings - which is quite fitting in the circumstances.

It has a spruce top, Tasmanian blackwood back and sides (surprisingly, a lot like koa) and open-gear Waverley tuners. The nut width is 47mm.

Below I've attached a link to a .pdf montage of photos of:
  • me playing it outside Brook (or, at least, posing)
  • the guitar with close-ups of the inlays, beautifully executed by Jack
  • the painting that inspired the inlays

Suffice to say I'm thrilled with it. Many thanks to Andy, Simon and Jack at Brook

Looks very nice and sorry to learn of your loss.

I've always been meaning to try a Brook (they look so good) but I've never quite got round to it.

    HNGD :)

@bertie ; that's the trouble: getting down there.

No local shops that stock Brook either.

    :)

Yes, it was Jack - a superb job. A lot of thought and discussion went into capturing the essence of the painting on the appropriate areas of the guitar and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

I went down to collect it with friend and neighbour Geoff - who was also collecting his new Lamorna. The back and sides are French walnut from a fallen tree from his late mother-in-law's house in Picardy, It needed quite a lot of work but the end result is a beautiful grain. Equally superb!

I've set it up on OneDrive so anyone should be able to view it just by clicking on the link without logging into OneDrive. There may be a very short delay whilst it goes through my OneDrive folder to access it - but just be patient for a few seconds.

I used to be able to embed OneDrive images here with no problem but can't seem to do that anymore.

Hopefully this works @GTC - it deserves to be seen! Looks like you've also made the news page on the Brook website.
