FS: Gibson L-00 1939

Beautiful Gibson for sale.

Lovely action. E to e, 2.8mm to 1.8mm with saddle to play with.

Original Klusons work perfectly.

Gorgeous V shaped neck.

Big, rich tone.  Currently strung with John Pearse Silk & Steels and sounding heavenly.

Customary pick guard crack is repaired professionally with a cleat & there is a small hole which has been "tastefully" plugged in the treble side, lower bout.

This L-00 has had a neck reset in the past and a more recent refret with period correct wire.

Absolutely stunning instrument which does it all. 

An unexpected 1934 model forces sale and unfortunately I can't keep both.  I should probably try but I've got to stick to my guns and find one small body guitar and one dreadnought.  The '34 has solid linings, which is something I've been obsessing over.   Zzzzzzz.....

I bought the guitar from Simon Van Hooland of Mojo Guitars, Belgium.  Great guy, Simon.  He has some lovely guitars and is very transparent about everything.  I highly recommend him.

The Gibson comes with it's  very cool vintage case which is working perfectly, all latches snap nicely and it doesn't smell.

I have the same guitar, very same year. They are absolutely magical boxes. I love vintage electrics as well, but the gains there are sometimes more marginal. With acoustics of this sort of age there is no doubt and new guitars just don’t really compare, no matter what sort of boutique and fancy woods you are talking about. Trust me, I have been deep down that road.

I doubt anyone would regret buying and owning this guitar.
