Rebecca Ikumelo and Gabrielle Hutchison are both victims of the crush at Brixton Academy where hundreds of entitled fuckwits turned up without tickets and tried to force their way into the venue for. Show by Asake.

Rebecca was a fan, with two young children. Gabrielle was a dog handler for a security firm called in to handle the event.
I’ve been to many hundreds of gigs since I was a kid, some with a potential for a bit of naughtiness, but I’ve never attended a show where security with dogs was necessary.

RIP to them both.   There’s lots of people with blood on their hands and imo it’s not the venue or the police.

    Crikey! Awful stuff..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Agreed, that must have been a premeditated effort to get in without tickets by a large number of people.

What a waste of peoples lives, RIP.

Theyve suspended the O2 Brixtons licence temporarily - they host 175 odd events per year without major incidents.
Theyve had two issues in last two years - both were at Afrobeats events - wouldnt it be better to suspend hosting Afrobeat events if the audience cant control themselves?

Its always been known as a dangerous venue for overcrowding/management, despite the only reported incidents being in recent times. Shouldve been shut down a long time ago. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. RIP.
