How generous is the pickup cavity under the pickguard?

You might be able to fit a soapbar-shaped pickup for a more Precision-like sound.

Bartolini, Aguilar, Delano, Nordstrand and others all make suitable candidates. None of these is cheap but they cost no more than the hit that you would take by selling at £850.
