Anyone ideas on what the Z custom pedal on the left is for ? Is that for the talk box bag thingy? 
And he's using an Ampeg amp for his main sound (model?) - what's the Fender champ(?) used for?

do I understand it right he's only using the Coloursound pedal as a boost to kick in for sustain /feedback on ocassion - 
otherwise I'm guessing he's using his guitar volume pots for overall control of volume / grit?

How primitive gear was in the early 70s. It was pretty much plug in and play.

And obligatory Nigel Tufnell quote... "Well.. it's one louder..isn't it?"

Looks like he's covered over the twists at the end of the strings too. Wonder if he ever learnt the ball end trick

I enjoyed that. Jeff seems lovely. I wonder what the interviewer would make of some of our pedal boards / racks though!

Looks like he has angled his pickups as well? Not seen that before.

VT40 I think. Obviously the one with the top facing controls, there’s a VT40 with front facing controls as well, possibly other variants. So that’s a 4x10?

Those pickups are really low.

I'm sure there's a lot more complexity to it if you really get in to the weeds, but basically the height of the pickup determines volume, and angling one side higher than the other can alter the balance between the bass and treble strings.
