Thanks again everyone. In the end I went for the Sennheiser e835. It's being shipped. I'll feedback here (no pun!) once I've tried it out.

Should be fine; if it's not QUITE what you want and you'd like to try an e840 I'd happily lend / swap you mine (like I say, I actually prefer my voice through the 835 to the 840...)
