I must admit I had to Google him... then I remembered seeing his name on album credits years ago. 

Looking at his discography, I've got that 1986 Matthew Sweet album and maybe the GTR one.  Not a name I'd seen recently, though, he seems to have worked more in the mainstream pop world.
