I used to fancy her when I was a boy. All  the boys did in school, growing up in South Wales. Not only that, but we loved her because she was Welsh Welch.

I'd have to admit I know of her through being known as a great beauty and as the punchline of many jokes by the like of Bob Hope. Snippets of the Parkinson interview with her and appearing on The Muppets. I can't really remember her acting although I must have seen her in things, Fantastic Voyage certainly. So wether she was a great actor I can't really comment but certainly an iconic figure and for a person of wealth 82 is not a huge age these days. Sad news, RIP.

Yeah, One Million Years B.C. and Fantastic Voyage are the absolute classics.  For a time she was definitely regarded as the most beautiful actress - maybe the most beautiful woman - in the world.  RIP.

Funny, I always thought she was sexy but not particularly beautiful as such. Sophia Loren is more my idea of a beauty. Erm, anyway, sorry for the sidetrack. RIP Raquel, you made many a teenage lad very happy, seeing you in those fur bikinis.

When I was growing up she was the epitome of beauty. She was a better actress than many gave her credit for.

In addition to the films mentioned above she was also good in "Mother, Jugs and Speed" and "Fathom", starring alongside Richard Briers of all people.

I always thought she was gorgeous. Maybe I’ll rewatch some of the films.. I recall seeing Fathom, way back.. I think her looks overshadowed her acting, somewhat.. which is a bit of a shame.. A truly iconic beauty, nonetheless.. RIP..

Apart from 1 Million Years & Fantastic Voyage, I would have said Myra Breckinridge, Hannie Caulder & The Three Musketeers. None of them world beating films, but she played the roles well.

Now that I think about it, she was my first crush....I saw Kansas City Bomber on TV when I was around 10. I'm sure it was a nterrible film but I didn't care.

Can’t believe it ,she always looked amazing for her age and always looked fit & well even in those pics where she put weight on in the last few years you wouldn’t think she was 81 or whatever. Very sad
