Issues with posting from phone - Quotes and images

This was just mentioned in another area of the forum.  It's been specifically happening to me for a month or two when posting from my android phone (Android 13 on a Samsung phone).  Everything works fine from my windows laptop

Images and Youtube links:
The same happens to me whether copying a link from an external site or uploading directly to the site.  I follow the usual process that has worked since day one.  The image will briefly appear in the text editor, then vanish.  Sometimes this is replaced by the letters OBJ in a small box where the image was.  

Quotes:
If I quote a post and start typing,  my response will end up embedded in the quote.  I think this seems to happen when the draft saving occurs.

Are these a known issue?  Any workarounds or do i just not bother trying it when on my phone?

  • Hmmm, I've genuinely no idea. I'm in the middle of some other platform changes, but I'll try to look at it when I get a minute. I don't have a Samsung, though, so I'm going to find it hard to reproduce (it works fine on my Pixel 6a).

    I've not tried posting a link on my phone, but I also get the quoting issue, and it's not just specific to here.
    If I try quoting on any forum using XenForo, every time I add a new character to a reply, it adds an extra line to the bottom of my reply.

    @WezV what browser do you use?

  • I get exactly the same experience as @WezV for past couple of months.

    Just remembered about this thread. The issue appears to have fixed itself over the past couple weeks, so I'm assuming Samsung have fixed whatever they broke.
