If you haven't - read his book "My bass and other animals" - or even better get the audio book as he reads it himself and the humour comes across even more.

Such a great player and seems to be really down to earth too.

One of my favourite bassists and I've seen his live stand-up show, too, where many of his anecdotes from the book were told.

The Rockenteurs' podcasts he does with Gary Kemp are also very good with great guests and I loved his playing on the lesser known Toy Matinee album with Tim Pierce.

And as an aside, his father was Mike Pratt, the dark-haired one who was alive/not the ghost in the original version of TV series Randall & Hopkirk.

He was also married (Divorced) to the daughter of the late Rick Wright of Pink Floyd
