Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk
Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.
There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.
Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.
No prizes. It's just for fun.
As people submit their entries, I'll post them below to hopefully promote some discussion on approaches used for the solo:

I double tracked the first solo over the E section playing both sections identically (best i could) apart from the harmony bits
Then just went for it free style for the G section to a tumultuous ending!

With this one, I find that it helps if you imagine yourself on a big stage in front of a Marshall stack, instead of the reality of sitting in a comfy chair, staring at a computer screen, with a nice cup of tea
When I gig, I always imagine and play like I'm playing to thousands, not just the 12 that can't be bothered to walk through the rain to get to the next pub
Trading feedback here
DAW; Reaper
Guitar: Ibanez AZ2402: Bridge humbucker for most of it, except for the laid back middle bit, which was the neck humbucker.
Ampsim
I decided to give Amplitube 5 a go, with my recently acquired MESA Boogie 2 pack.
I selected the Triple Crown because it looked like it might be a bit Rock n' Roll. It's got loads of knobs, which was a bit daunting, but fortunately the default sound was good. I put the Amplitube Dcomp in front of it, for a bit more sustain.
Reverb and delay
The reverb is Valhalla Room on the default setting.
I put some delay on the middle laid back section, which was Fabfilter Timeless 3.
I'm off to eBay to look for a massive Confederate flag and a MAGA cap to help me get in the mood to record something appropriate
It's in the playlist. Nice touch with the Freddy>Wembly bit
I figured this is the type of track that has lots of guitarists on stage so:
#1 is the vocalist who also can play a bit of lead doing something melodic
#2 is the Tele twang guy taking it back to the Southern roots
PRS Tremonti SE neck #1 and bridge #3 and Fender USA! USA! USA! Std Tele middle position -> Kraken preamp green channel -> Mooer radar with V30M25 IR -> DAW with reverb and delay added
I went with the Wolfgang > MC404 Wah > Cubase/GuitarRig5 Orange Amp sim with Delay, Reverb and subtle Rotary Effect. Bridge pick up and Wah for 1st segment, then neck pick up with intermittent Wah for the rest.
It's in the playlist. That makes 6 entries.

1991 Hamer Sunburst with locking trem - not that I used the Floyd at all.
It was all Bridge Humbucker which is a JB.
On my FM3 I used a new patch I put together.
The Amp Sim was a boosted JCM800 with two different 4x12 IRs one close mic’d with an SM57, the other backed away a bit.
Then it was the Coliseum reverb.
Something I tried which I need to experiment with a bit more was adding in the Enhancer block set to stereoiser and default settings.
…or more likely my timing on this really was a bit shit!
I had a go at trying to write the solo tune without the guitar in my hands and sing it a bit to try and come up with something with some themes. There are a few phrases that came out that are totally nicked from the Paris GnR concert in 1992 which I remember setting the video for and rewatching to death!
I called it meat and potatoes because its all pretty basic major and minor pentatonic and blues stuff and an average pace.
There were a couple of flashier and longer lines I really wanted to get in here, but at present I can't play them well enough at the tempo of the track to have been able to get them in. I'll keep practicing - I'm in awe of some of the playing you guys can crank out at high speed, and I'll get there one day!
Overall I'm happy with the result - its OK
