Interesting "Fiddler on the Roof" fact - Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky & Hutch etc etc) played the little boy in the film of Fiddler.

And then decades later played Teyve in the UK theatre revival of it. I went to see that, and it was fantastic.

Had a very unique approach to the music - a lot of the cast were musicians and acted while carrying their instruments and were playing when they weren't talking or singing. It was very clever. Hats off to the guy who carried a double bass on a harness all night!

I think he may have been in Cast A Giant Shadow as well.

I wish his family long life. Shalom, Chaim.

    Terrible shame RIP

Fiddler wasn’t just a forum for circa 8 to 10 great songs from the musical, some broke out into mainstream songs.  Sunrise/Sunset for example,

But tha5 story, and in particular the film representation of that time In history and the pogroms, and then each of all off the characters’ place in life and the world is a very very good metafor (?) for the challenges that many people face in the world today.
The lyrics of those songs are extremely well thought out and written.
It should be a classic text in teenage education and then transpose to modern equivalents.

the story is a terrible tragedy, one’s heart is pulled for every single person in the cast as history is cast upon them and they make their choices.  It is a heartbreaker .  Topology is fabulous but so are all of the other actresses and actors.
