Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

That's amazing I love it and that tone, so juicy 80s metal  I want it to solo with.

I went for twin guitars again, panned left and right.

Part 1 one both guitars playing same 3 string tapping pattern.
Part 2 some harmony bits
Part 3 some chordal melodic bits with a billy whizz bit at the end

Downloaded Valhalla free vst3 and used that for a change of 'verb

Charvel san dimas, SD59, 9s, boosted mids patch with no delay, for a change!

Splendid backing track  

Back to DIY again now....

I uploaded my sotm track and got quite an informative report back on how good (bad) my mastered track was.  Learnt some tips for next time.

Might be of use to others.

Cheers @fastonebaz FWIW it's a boosted mid gain Victory Kraken green channel. Just add reverb and it's instant hair metal.

And with regards to your master, I thought your guitar was very up front. Of course the AI may well take issues with the backing track underneath it and I accept full responsibility for that! Thanks for the link though

You can send it in after the voting starts. You just might miss out on votes from those that have voted before you submit your entry.
