Anybody ever tried Bubinga back & sides?

Yes, a Brook. Hard to generalise from a single guitar, but it gave a very rich and full bass, quite blooming with lots of overtones.
    Aha - please see PM's

Yeah ditto. I tried Brook with Bubinga back and sides.

Like Indian Rosewood but a bit brighter if my memory serves me right.

I tried some acoustics today and by jove, I think I'm cured... As I walked out empty handed! Tried all the Larrivee's but I've got mine now - I definitely prefer their standard bracing. The OM03 sunburst in store is fantastic.

Haven't played a 12 string in a while and while very cool, can't see a purchase there. Same with nylon string but again very cool. Guitar with soundport, didn't really notice much difference so wouldn't say that's a must, for me. Yamaha are good for the money.

It's a damn shame my UK time will be so limited. I'd love to pop in and try your Larrivees on for size, and (on another occasion) return the favour by giving you the run of my little collection of  Australian instruments. That'll fix your "don't want any more guitars" mood. (And possibly mine.)

Not going to happen Distance is a bugger sometimes.

I had an offer for my banjo that I couldn't refuse, so temporarily without one.

I know what I'll replace it with though, a Deering Vega Senator.

    :)
