Just picked up this from ‘The Little Guitar Shop’
So much guitar for so little money.
Absolutely loving this - however I am clumsy muppet
and broke the top E string 0.26 string and the bass came with upgraded La Bella flats - so do I swallow hard and buy a new set £70 ouch!
or can I buy a single string?
Help please — ta Jon

I don’t think that’s going to be a single string option but if you like the tone with the flats, you’re going to have to suck it up and take the hit. You’d need to buy another set of something I guess, so the optimists take is you’re only really spending the difference in cost.

Congratulations on a nice score there, they are a lot of fun to play aren’t they.

I don't have the exact Bass VI specs to hand - can you measure the lengths from the tailpiece to the nut and from the tailpiece to the tuner? I may possibly have a single string that would fit, but not sure.

I'm pretty confident if you ask Labella customer services nicely they'll either send you a link to buy a single or maybe just send you one direct.

I read these are supposed to be very good, if you are looking to replace the entire set.  Balanced tension and £20 for the set.

A pity that the budget Squier vibrato tailpiece lacks the lock/stop mechanism of American hardware.

Absolutely- heading to an upgrade, but seem to only find a MIJ trem, but not a USA part available; or is the MIJ and MIA the same?

    Part code seems to be.

Probably not essential since breaking strings is (JonHosker's unfortunate accident excepted!) very unusual on these.

The proper MIJ Jaguar/Jazzmaster unit does have the lock button though.

They’re a slightly different size, you need the MIJ one.

Good. The lock button is handy for occasional diversions into Drop D tuning without throwing yer Jazzmaster, Jaguar or Bass VI out of tune.
