I’m quite impressed with the Blackstar ID15 I have on loan. It sounds pretty good - I think better than the bigger models, for some reason - it’s really very loud for a 15W solid-state amp with a 10” speaker, and it’s small and light.

A plus point is that the controls are in the right place - on the front, not the top - quite unusual these days for reasons I don’t understand. Minus point is that the essential footswitch has to be bought separately.

Well, to give you seven ... if you want small, cheap, don't have to care too much about it and don't fancy the Katana route, the Fender Champion 40 is surprisingly capable and has some minimal effects buit-in, although I'd probably pair it with a very small pedalboard or basic multi and use it as a clean platform.

Forgot about that one . Shane off “in the blues” did a good test of it
